Hella
Bitches Ain't Shit But Good People LP

Hella is such an amazing band. "Hold Your Horse Is" still stands as one of the most mind bending mathematically complex albums ever. Although this e.p. still makes my brain ache with musical equations, it's not quite as enjoyable as "Hold Your..." With Hella now adding programming effects to their music, the two man guitar and drum extravaganza begins to lose some of it's natural enjoyment. Zach Hill is still one of the best and insane drummers ever. It's Dillinger Escape Plan without vocals or the metal punch. Close your eyes, try to comprehend, and let your brain explode.

Wow. How good is this band. On first listen, American Nightmare sounds like just another hardcore band. But upon further analysis, their raw energy backed with their emo, poetic lyrics of depression and suicide help intensify this album.

Cave In
Lost In The Air/Lift Off CD

Great two song e.p. Recordings left off of the amazing Jupiter album I'd imagine. Both tracks get five stars. Two of the best Cave In songs ever. They have a miniscual almost undetectable pop edge to them.

Cave In
Creative Eclipses CD

Creative Eclipse finds the band turning the volume down a tad and disgarding the throaty bellows found on the previous records. Songs like "Magnified" and "Luminance" serve as pre-Jupiter appitizers but the sonata songs sound like worthless Aphex Twin type recordings without the depth and apeal of Aphex Twin. Basically, it's a nice little sampler of better things to come.

Cave In
Until Your Heart Stops CD

What a follow up to Beyond Hypothermia. This music will make your ears bleed with bliss. Cave In never stops tearing through each track with their ultra heavy metal attack with emotional undertones and creative filler with songs like Segue 1. Amazing stuff before Cave In molded into an even more amazing form.

Cave In
Beyond Hypothermia CD

Old School Cave In is much different but still amazing to the new Cave In. Get ready for 11 tracks from various recording sessions that rip through your skull with the Iron Maiden riffs, screamo attacks, and sonic blasts of metal. Especially impressive considered the band members young age (mid to late teens). Amazing song writing that they later follow up on other releases with even better song craft. Only flaw is that as a hole, portions of songs tend to drag but great nonetheless.

Digger
Powerbait CD

Digger's most pop punk outting and amatuer album (it is there first after all). Although it's not up there with "Monte Carlo" or "Trainwreck" Digger makes up for it with catchy, feel good songwriting.

American Nightmare
American Nightmare CD

This is such a great e.p. American Nightmare play youth crew hardcore style with harsh vocals and emotional lyrics. Nothing new but some how deeply refreshing. An amazing debut all around.

Piebald
We Are The Only Friends We Have CD

A departure from "Venetian Blind..." Pibald takes their sound into a more pop sound but nonetheless retain the brilliance, the bizzare geek humor, and the emotion that made them such a great band to begin with. Although more radio friendly (for lack of a better phrase), Piebald's new album ranks up there with the best of them.

As one of the other reviews said, it's so bad it's good. Punk rock to the fullest. Sloppy, vulgar, pure shit. Great value with an awesome booklet.
