Young And The Useless
A Smile Is No Good For Me CD

Like it hard, fast, and loud, but yet still melodic? This is it! Heart felt screaming vocals without the ever so generic "Jordan Pudnik"(NFG)whiny vocals. But by all means is not poppy what so ever. These guys are definately blowing up!!! They have even toured Puerto Rico with Stretch Arm Strong. If you like Stretch, Poison the Well, or Grade you will probably dig this.

I was pleased to find out that this pop rock indie rock quartet finally put their debut CD for easy availability. I had been listening to this band on for a while. So I imiediately ordered. And it did not let me down. What is also very impressing is the age of these kids thier still in high school! If only i was a good of a musician as they are when i was there age. This band also has a very unique style...usual i compare bands like "....meets....meets...."(See my review for FINCH's "falling into place ep"). I could not think of anyone to compare this band to. They also have a female lead singer and I always love to see them to show diversity to the punk rawk community. That and the fact that I am the guitarist of a female lead band which you can order from this site. It is called DAMSEL IN THIS DRESS. So go order your copy of "the pick up line" today!!!as well as LOst NORth STAR!!!

Falling Into Place CD

You must buy this CD!! It is amazing. Drive-Thru's brand new weapon to rock the punk rock hardcore emo scene. This four song ep is short, and i usually will never buy eps due to the fact that they are a big tease! But this is well worth it. I would best describe the music as highly melodic hardcore. Band elements include: Glasseater meets New Found Glory(with out extremely high nasal vocals), meets Linoln Park. The vocals are clear and crisp, the guitars are driving, and the screaming makes you feel these four song of energy. The debut LP (out jan 2001) can only be 10x better since it is being produced by the genius Mark Trombino who has produced such great albums as Jimmy Eat World "Clarity", Blink-182 "Dude Ranch", The Hippos "Heads are Gonna Role," and many more. Do Yourself a this damn CD!!!!

Well I'm gonna be frank with you I bought this CD because of one band,One Dollar Short. This band is amazing. What especially sets them aside from all other 1000000 bands in the same category from them, is the production of this CD. The sound quality of their well-written songs certainly shows that these boys didn't record these six songs in some one dollar an hour recording studio out in the middle of the Austrailian outback. That's right these boys are from down under and in my opinion can be best compared to the Ataris,(who they tour with everytime they visit Australia.) One Dollar Shorts' first song "Starry Night," was my favorite, due to excellent harmonies in which are held out for long notes. It will definately have you singing along. Unfortunately the rest of the CD pretty much sucks. Agent Felix, from my home state of Florida, produces the typical over-nasal voice, with fairly decant guitar hooks and good songs, but lacks vocal abilities. Felix's cover of Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back," was quite interesting however. Lucky 7=boring, Whoopie Cushion=boring, thats all I have to say about those bands. So I leave you one reason to buy this CD: One Dollar Short, because this is the only american release from the Aussie band.
