Bomb The Music Industry!
Get Warmer CD

This is the second great Bomb the Music Industry! album, as far as I'm concerned. Album Minus Band being the first, with the other two being a collection of songs, some hit, and some miss. This is definitely a 'concept album': the concept being quitting your job, moving away from where you were, and going somewhere totally different, before eventually realizing that shit's sorta the same everywhere. The words rock the shit, but that's to be expected from anything Jeff Rosenstock does. As for the music, it's way less punx this time around. I really like it a lot, but if you're not into much other music aside from punk or ska, you might not feel it so much. My one friend hates this album, whereas I love it. It's that sort of an album, I think -- love it or hate it. Live drums this time around, which sounds awesome and adds a ton to the intensity of the songs. Synths played live this time, which again adds to the intensity and uh.. "honesty". Basically, if you like other Bomb! stuff, I really don't see how you can be THAT disappointed. But don't expect to totally love it unless you go into it with a sort of open mind.

Pegasuses-XL
The Antiphon LP

So apparently I'm the only person that bought this record from Interpunk? Shame, cuz it came on awesome clear vinyl with black splatter. Anyway, I really fucking love this record. I've been waiting for this since I heard all of their EPs on Quote Unquote Records, and this thing just blows them away. The EPs, it seems, were sort of like a concept demo, showing what they eventually planned on doing with Pegasuses, but not really fully exploring and giving a satisfying amount of this great project. The LP, however, kicks ass. It's one of those listen-from-start-to-finish albums, as all the tracks melt into each other gloriously. The album feels like one huge piece, rather than just 12 tracks thrown together. The album mixes electronic instruments with acoustic drumming, which is a really really awesome sound. I really can't think of how else to describe this album. If you're an avid Jeff Rosenstock fan like me, you'll love this. Odds are, if you're any kind of music fan you're going to love this. Or maybe not. I have no idea, but seriously, try this album out, it rocks the shit.

Cryptorchid Chipmunk
Thank You For Saving Me Listener, But Your Revolution Is In Another CD Disc CD

I listened to this album two times in one sitting the first day I got it. Then I listened to it twice again the next day. I guess that means I liked it? It was extremely weird, that much I can say. Whether or not I enjoyed it in the way I enjoy my other favorite ska punk albums, I'm not really sure, but it was quite an experience to listen to, no doubt. I'm not really sure on the status of Cryptorchid Chipmunk nowadays, but I hope they put out a full-length eventually, because I'd definitely buy it. This CD is like 9 minutes of weird, electronic, ADD-styled ska(?) music, and while it may not be as catchy or definable as other albums, it's definitely something worth listening to. Can't really describe it, but I definitely recommend it.
