Wow. I never thought an album that could technically be classified as "metalcore" would blow me away like Each Individual Voice... The intro sample really sets the pace for the album, hinting at a general feel of sheer insanity. Riffs is the name of the game, and AtSS are certainly no strangers to the term. Although the riffs are technical and dischordant, they're not completely incomprehensible like most modern tech bands. This album definitely shines on the air-guitaribility front. Another odd note about the music is that it's closer to death metal than most modern "deathcore" bands. The only problem to my ears is that the vocals (although they sound cool) are mostly incomprehensible. Sure, I'm no stranger to this, but it cuts down on the replay factor. But other than that, Each Individual Voice is Dead in the Silence is a superb album, and a must-buy for fans of technical metalcore-ish music.
