Fucked Up
Hidden World LP

It's overrated at best, and leaves a pretentious aftertaste.

I love bands that stray away from the cookie cutter norm. I love original lyrics and song structure. For the life of me as hard as I try , as much as this album has been hyped as afore mentioned, I don't hear it. The band takes classic hardcore US Punk Rock 101 (black flag, circle jerks)and stretches out the formula over a five minute song with a generic vocalist. BORING! The lyrics are intelligent which is the only reason this gets a second star. However, listening to this band reference "deep" stuff again and again gets a little tiresome.

I would compare this album to a failed recipe attempt. Fucked up mixed everything from black flag to public image limited. They cook it carefully, and somehow the meal just doesnt come out right. Despite all the effort the food is just lackluster. Proof that cooking is more than the ingredients.

Listen to the ablum and not the hype. Overall this is as mediocre as it gets.

Speed Kills LP

While its not up to par with the "perfect" 700 club 7", Speed kills (a demo of a planned LP) is a great glimpse at what could have been. The demo has been remastered, and sounds decent here. In fact, Speed kills sounds better than some lps of that time..... well maybe its still just a little thin. If you're familiar with the Koro's ultra tight/crafted to perfection sound and love it you need this. I would say that this probably isn't the best representation of their sound (get the 7"). The material needed work, and thats most likely why we havent heard it until now.

When I think of the LP that could have been, with better mixing and perhaps some more rehearsals (they recorded themselves to see what they needed to work on)it really brings a tear to my eye. They don't make em like this anymore.

Charles Bronson
Complete Discocrappy (Double) CD

A ton of punishing tracks, likely to scare the neighbors. The music is as fast and snotty as you like. If your into fun, fast as you can music that really doesnt take itself too seriously this is for you. If I had one complaint it would be that I can't sit through this whole thing.

Gacy's Place CD

Really good music, although maybe not the whole way through (the demos are ok at best). The real treasure here is the first eight tracks. Weird for sure, but brutal at the same time. If you're a fan of early KBD stuff you most likely enjoy this.
