Judge
What It Meant: Complete Discography CD

Well, when I purchased my copy of Start Today by Gorilla Biscuits, I was recommended Judge's Complete Discography by the cashier.

Well, a few weeks later I made the purchase, and I am pleased with what I got.

The music is powerful, and brings out the beast in me. The vocals are intense; you can tell this is singer Mike Judge's outlet of aggression.

Rhythm wise...well, Judge is a tad bit generic. Though they do play a heavier brand of hardcore then most bands of the time, I still feel like I've heard it all before. This doesn't hurt the album too much, but keeps it from getting 5 stars.

Minor Threat
Complete Discography (Remastered) CD

The masters of the hardcore art, with all their finest work compiled into one album. What more could a college boy want?

Maybe a full ride to school? Perhaps...but to those unfortuante kids who need to take the poor, moneyless route through school, a simple 15 bucks will buy you an album one can listen to again and again while surviving through a tough all-nighter.

Hardcore at it's finest. Simple, fast, but filled with energy and passion typical of any McKaye band.

American Football
American Football EP CD

I got this along with American Football's S/T full length, and I find myself listening to this EP more often.

Both releases are still great, but the transition between each song on Single just hits me in the right way.

You can't beat this EP for 5 bucks. Definately buy this EP. The mellowing sounds of each song will make sure you never regret this purchase.

American Football
American Football CD

This is Mike Kinsella's best band, in my opinion, and it's a shame it's lifespan was so brisk. American Football is easy listening at it's finest, and can always be played to brighten the mood in any room.

Suprising enough, this album can also fuel me enough to keep me entertained during workout periods, which says measures to the intensity of this album.

Get this album if you are a fan of the Kinsellas, and wish to see how their music evolved over time.

Hell, just get this album. It's good music for everybody, regardless of taste.

Contract CD

Fun fun fun. Good listening for the quick, 10 minute walks to class. CIS are modern day hardcore legends in the making, and I am glad I made this EP my first Crime In Stereo experience.

Definately get this, it's a value at it's price.

Neil Perry
Lineage Situation CD

I was recommended Neil Perry off of a message board I frequently visit, and after listening to the song "Nine Minutes of Non Fiction", I wasted no time in buying this album.

Well, needless to say, the rest of the album doesn't stand up to the greatness of the opening song. There seems to be too much filler throughout the whole album.

Granted, I only listened to the album three times through. I'm sure if I give it time, it will grow on me. But as of now, I am not too impressed.

Cap'n Jazz
Analphabetapolothology (Double) CD

This is my first dive into a Kinsella project, and I am happy to say that it was a great decision. The album starts out great with the song "Little League", with personal favorites "The Sands Have Turned Purple", "Precious", and "Flashpoint: Catheter" rounding out the lineup of the first CD.

The second CD is not as well-put-together as the first, but it still has enough good material on it to keep the CD listenable from start to finish.

If you are a fan of 90's emo, get this CD post-haste. With it's catchy guitar riffs and attention grabbing lyrics, the origin of the Kinsella brothers musical legacy is a must have.
