Queers
Today CD

I must say the Queers have basically gone downhill since after Don't Back Down. All these dumb slow songs are annoying. And I think the Queers went a little too far in covering the Beach Boys songs, I mean Don't Back Down is the only one that's any good. I guess it's good that Ben Weasel was involved in this, but the two good songs on this ep just turned out sounding kinda like Screeching Weasel's Teen Punks In Heat; the Everything's OK ep is better, even though it sounds similar to bad Screeching Weasel too. . . . Anyway I like I've Had It With You, it is good, and Yeah, Well Whatever is decent as well. Don't pay more than $4. . .definitely not.

Queers
Live In West Hollywood CD

The only thing I really like about this album is that it has so many of the great songs from the Queers live set. But there is a lot wrong with it. First off, they didn't play Murder in the Brady House, that was a huge mistake, and it would have been nice if they had played some other typical songs from the Queers live shows I've seen...Kill That Girl is great, but Rockaway Beach wouldve been really good too. There is a lot more I could think of there, too. Secondly, Suck This was about perfect in quality, I don't care how "short" it was; this album sounds really crappy compared to it, just listen to the songs that appear on both albums and tell me I'm wrong. Sadly I don't like Joe Queer's singing on most of these songs that much, he wasn't trying hard enough. And the queers were better before unquestionably, the new line-up can't compare, another reason why Suck This was better. This is good anyway, any queers fan should buy it, hey at least they didn't play many of the songs from beyond the valley... my favourite song in quality was probably webelos.

Lillingtons
Backchannel Broadcast CD

I agree with Ben Weasel that the Lillingtons are the best band around today. This newest album is overall maybe not as good as I Lost My Marbles and Death By Television, but it is kind of hard to compare like that. anyway it has a lot of really good songs, and I understand if most people don't really like the style of it: I didn't like it much until I listened to it for awhile, but then I realised it was great. If you like the Lillingtons, you should listen to this, I am surprised how many people who like the Lillingtons reviewed this and didn't like it—I bet some of them changed their minds. *one of the best cds I have.
