Drag The River
Live At The Starlight (Double Disc) CD

This album is really great. To be honest, I bought it because I'm a huge fan of ALL and wanted to hear what Chad's been up to lately. Songs like "Get Drunk", "Tomorrow Morning" and "Jig" are stoundouts for me, as well as their version of "Johnny Come Lately".

The second disc is only split into two tracks, side a and side b, however its well worth listening to, as Chad and John swap vocal duties on a few tracks which makes things interesting.

Yeah, this is (alt) country, but its fucking great and shows a degree of talent so dearly lacking in punk music as of late.

Jello Biafra And The Melvins
Sieg Howdy CD

Another great release from Jello Biafra, I really like the more experomental, less 4/4/verse/chorus/bridge/verse stuff on this release.

Although, am I the only one whose copy has the tracks in the wrong order? "Kali-Fornia Uber Alles" is listed as track 5 on the CD, but it's actually track 7. Bizzarre ha?

I recommend this to anyone who's into the Dead Kennedys (duh) or other older style punk bands. There's even a few parts that remind me of Black Flag here, its all good. The remixes are quite interesting too.

Tony All
New Girl Old Story CD

A very good concept by some very good musicians. Unfortunately I do have some bad things to say about this album.

First off, Tony is not a fantastic singer, his voice kinda bugs me, as does the way he has structured the lyrics on alot of these songs. Secondly, the bass seems to be mixed excessively high. In my mind, this would have made a fantastic instrumental album, as it is a little bit different to most ALL stuff, a little bit more jazz-oriented. Son-O-Theme is fantastic, as are Telltale Signs, and Guitar Case (Karls singing is really quite good). the rest of the album is sadly hit-and-miss in my mind.

Worth buying though for the fun of trying to explain the concept to your friends and family!
