When Your Heart Stops Beating CD

This CD is great. It has some really good hooks in it and Mark Hoppus delivers as always. This record is definitely a must-have for Blink 182 fans. Travis Barker is an incredible drummer, and shows his ability to play just about anything on this record. Craig from Lars and the Bastards also tears it up on this one laying down harmony under Mark. This record easily beat Angels & Airwaves' debut in my opinion, and it's definitely closer to what fans have come to expect from the members of Blink 182 than Tom's new band. It's a good buy, and has songs you'll find yourself listening to over and over again.

Decemberunderground CD

Good jams. Not AFI's best in my opinion but the band itself is headed in a new creative so what can be expected? There are some great songs on here, Davey Havok rules, so all the lyrics are incredible. If you are already a fan of AFI then you should pick this up anyway; but you should especially grab a copy if you liked "Sing the Sorrow" released by AFI in 2003. This record includes Miss Murder, Kill Caustic, and Love Like Winter (my favorite). Overall it's a 4, which is great, I generally don't give 5's so this is a good record. I like it a little better then Sing The Sorrow, but both are great purchases. CRANK IT UP!

Head Automatica
Popaganda (Manufactured on Demand) CD

This record fucking rules, BUY IT! The entire record was produced by Howard Benson, who produced Beating Heart Baby and The Razor from Head A's first record "Decadence," which is also a great buy. This record resembles both of those songs very closely. It maintains the style and sound of Decadence, but overall is just better. It's an awesome followup record to the first. If "Decadence" left you asking for more then you need this record. It is upbeat and super catchy, Daryl wrote some really great hooks for this album. CRANK IT UP!

Great Pop Punk from Austin, TEXAS. This is a classic D.B. record with a lot of great songs. It is the older sounding D.B. that's similar to "Somewhere in America."

Discovering The Waterfront CD/DVD

This album is a great follow-up. "When Broken Is Easily Fixed" is a great record - really hard to top. But Silverstien did good. This band is the shit live; I've seen them 2 times and they were equally amazing. "Discovering The Waterfront" has a variety of aggressive songs and melodic stuff, so it stays interesting. If you liked their first album you should dig this one too.

Say Hello To Sunshine CD

This CD is not very good. It sucks to say it, but the style of the band changed completely between "What It Is To Burn" and this album. They changed drummers and it affected everything about the band. If you want to check this band out, pick up "What It Is To Burn" because it is great. Otherwise don't worry about this record.

Mars Volta
Frances The Mute CD

Mars Volta is an amazing band that is way ahead of the game. No one can touch these guys, and they continue to bring new, complex, original music to their fans with Frances the Mute. The actual music in this CD is great, but what bothers me about "Frances" is the rediculously long interludes between songs. It's almost unbearable, and I am tempted to fast forward through the nonsense to the next track. The good stuff makes the record worth buying, it's THAT great. But why would a band record a title track to an album, then put it out on a single. They should have taken out some of the sound effect electronica junk and put the other actual track on this record. You would get more for your money if there was another song. I'm all for what the ATDI guys are doing, it's why I bought the album to begin with, but they a little overboard in a few places on this one. The record still has great music on it, and it's a good buy if you like De-Loused In The Comatorium. The bottom line is however: if you have to choose, pick up "De-Loused", it is just as good as "Frances" but has more actual music on it.

Armor For Sleep
What To Do When You Are Dead CD

Armor For Sleep really proves themselves on this record. It is strong from start to finish including heavy and melodic, yet intricate guitar parts. The lyrics are amazing, so if you like really clever emo hooks similar to that of Brand New's "Deja" album, then you'll really enjoy this CD. This group really steps it up a notch in What To Do When You're Dead; I seem to think more and more that it compliments Dream To Make Believe, and takes it one step further. Overall, "What To Do" is an excellent sophomore album. AFS maintains their style and sound from "Dream", and brings new, more difficult music to the table. A good buy for fans of Dream to Make Believe.
