Prayer For Cleansing

Southern Empire 1

Released on July 23, 2004

Want to be notified once we get restocked?

"The Tragedy" is the final release from the influential hardcore band Prayer for Cleansing who recently played their final show at Hellfest 2004. The three songs on this CD were originally recorded in 2000, but were never released because of the poor sound quality and the band's untimely demise. But, after a reunion show in March of 2004, Prayer for Cleansing entered the studio and re-recorded "When the Sun Kisses the Morning," "The Closet," and "Salvation." This CD represents the only two Prayer for Cleansing songs never to be released along with their metallic rendition of The Cranberries' "Salvation." This release is the first release on Southern Empire Records -- in conjunction with both War Torn Records and Surprise Attack Records -- a label started by Prayer vocalist David Anthem and ex-Undying bassist Jonathan Raine. Packaged in a unique, environmentally friendly case, this CD is the final chapter of Prayer for Cleansing and is a must for any fan of metallic hardcore.

Though only a few minutes long, this e.p. is truly amazing. All three tracks totally shred (notably their cover of "salvation" by the Cranberries) The packaging is really really cool...If you dig technical metal in the vein of Between the Buried and Me, Into the Moat, and Red Chord..this record is for you!! This is whats left of one of the finest metalcore acts EVER. They definitely pioneered the death metal/hardcore sound and it was definitely really sad when they called it quits. Anyone into metalcore should listen to this band and pay your respects.

these guys were badass. only three songs, but "the closet" is the best one by far. check out the full length, or get this one to get a feel of how good they are.

I think I actually like this 3 song EP better then the full length. These songs are well thought, and amazing. I love listening to this album. It is so cheap, it is only $5.50, so buy it. If you like heavy music, then you will like PFC.
