This is a nice departure from anything MM has ever done, with faint hints of past albums like Moon and Antarctica, This is a long drive, and Lonesome Crowded West. A lot of people are describing it as their best work thus far and i would definitely disagree with that, being that it's a bit mood inconsistent, if you will. I usually put records on when i'm needing to match my mood and this ablum is all over the place. The first song is a little poignant, while the second song is upbeat and full of pop, while the rest of the album is dark, with small hints of bliss thrown in here and there.
What I like best about this album is the cover. It's simple and aesthetically pleasing. It's such a simple concept that i wish i'd had thought of.
