i'm torn with my enjoyment for nuclear assault, in some way i hold them slightly responsible for today's neo thrash riff stealers like muni waste and all that brim turned up party garbage, but in reality they helped me realize the greatness of thrash. this lp/ep combo is essential, in my eyes their best stuff. the next two lp's are pretty damn good as well, save the zeppelin cover. now here's a theoretical for you, john connelly is the assault's singer and he was anthrax's singer in the very early demo days, imagine if he hadn't left/been kicked out of anthrax and we got to hear his version of 'fistful of metal' with a tad less of the screaming meemee high pitched operatic shit of the late 70's/early 80's heavy metal and nwobhm scene, huh? might have been a bit better. and once again, back on black rip shit up with this one.
