Bill Bondsmen/Out Cold

Schizophrenic 31

Released on April 24, 2007

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

This 7-inch sounds like it could have been recorded in some fucko's basement in Maumee, Ohio in 1983. OUT COLD treat us to three new tracks that have their patent, no holds barred 1981-style Massachusetts hardcore, tainted with the early sounds of the Midwest. If that isn't a geographic train wreck why the hell are you still buying punk rock records in 2007? BILL BONDSMEN compliment the driving sounds of Out Cold with two new tracks kicking their 1980s retro hardcore sound. One of these is a ripping tribute to the pioneers of the Japanese HC scene. This wax is so tough it busted the metal stamper 800 copies into the pressing.

Well, OUT COLD have been hammering 'em out for umpteen years & their style hasn't wavered in all that time. Is that a good thing (consistency) or a bad thing (stuck in a rut?) I'll certainly go for the former as their straight-forward fast attack is always a winner, even if these aren't necessarily their best tunes. Still good, though. BILL BONDSMEN are a pretty cool Michigan band with an old school Mid-west feel to their hardcore - DIE KREUZEN? Maybe, as they have a slightly different feel to their sound with some nasty-ass vocals. Pretty solid stuff, overall.
