Above the city was one of my favorite discs to come out in the past few years so this took a few listens to grow on me. New drummer rips and Joe's vocals are among my favorite of any punk singer. Songs are better, and longer. Cheers.

Smoke or fire are just a fucking solid band. It hard to pick flaws in these guys if u like most punk shit. i highly rate this cd. Dunno if its as good as above the city, but still wicked.

I'm really torn on this. I wasn't a huge fan of Above the City because I thought it was a tad bland. Some of it I really really liked, but as a whole I thought it was a teeny bit lacking. I was sure that this record will find Smoke or Fire matured and fine tuned to perfection. Not so. Most of the record is really good, but there are at least three tracks that are so goddamn generic they're tough to get through. Some of the stuff on here is lyrically really controversial for a punk band, in a good way. Songs such as Patty Hearst and Folding the Pages are awesome, if only the whole record could have maintained that high mark...Still, this record is much better than any of that Fearless/Victory garbage. Just saying.

Awsome. It gets better every time I listen to it. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. It's a lot more solid and consistent than "Above the City," and longer than anything else they've put out before that. The songs average around 3 minutes, whereas with "Above the City" they were pretty short. I like it just as much, if not more than the old Jericho stuff, plus there's the added bonus of an old favorite, "Little Bohemia." Definitely worth the money...probably even worth the money to buy multiple copies. Whether you're an old Jericho fan, a Smoke or Fire fan, or just getting into them, this album reeks of the sweet smell of successful progress.
