Mutiny Pop

Insubordination 047

Released on May 30, 2006

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Every few years a band comes along in the underground with enough force to break through the surface. These bands tend to burn hot; they burn bright, so much in fact that they tend to be something of a rock and roll anomaly. Immediately, everyone begins to take notice, and they leave a mark. Mutiny Pop is that bright burning light—from a band that is creating enough friction in the underground pop scene to torch the entire set of clichéd expectations of poppunk. The Copyrights, in their second full-length album continue their assault on the genre; recreating, mutating, and reengineering the sound into something more aggressive, fun and exciting than anything heard before. Mutiny Pop is exactly what fans have demanded from “The current saviors of pop-punk.” The Copyrights are burning bright—signaling a whole new era of underground music.

i saw these guys in chicago with the methadones, so i thought i would pick it up. i was a little disappointed. every band seems better live, especially after a few drinks. this cd just doesn't rock for me. im sure others will like it, some catchy stuff, but that's about it. i did however like it better than teenage bottlerocket.

Really good pop-punk. I think their other cd, We Didn't Come Here To Die, is a little better. This is really good though. Buy it.

I got this CD way back in June and completely forgot to review it. I'm not really sure what to say except that it's pretty great. It's slightly below their first album but that's not a knock on the band; most bands would kill to be this good. Buzz pop away!

the copyrights are fuckin awesome. they aren't doing anything that is groundbreaking or mind blowing. but its fun, catchy as hell, and rockin. if you dig all that 90's Lookout Records punk like screeching weasel, the queers, MTX you will dig this shit. go see them live too cause they are dope.

What else can be said other than AMAZING! Great follow up to the last album. A step in the right direction. I have to admit it took me a few listens to warm up to it but now I'm totally hooked! So far, my favorite album of 2006.
