Still Busy

New School 103

Released on November 1, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Since day one, Twenty2 have been rocking stages all over Canada with their unique skate-style punk rock. Just months after their first performance, they were asked to open for top national acts such as Blink 182, Good Riddance, AFI and No Use for a Name. After the release of their first EP, the band’s popularity quickly grew, and they were approached by a number of independent record labels. Soon after, they recorded their first full-length for Springman Records. In November 2000, they released another EP on Lameass Recordz, licensed for U.S. distribution by Springman. Just months after its release, Twenty2 found themselves touring with Propagandhi, Cigar and X-Large. With the end of 2002 quickly approaching, the band signed with New School Records and released 2003’s The Dudes of Hazzard, which gained them national television exposure on Much Music and Musique Plus, and landed them on tour with Ten Foot Pole. After the release of 2004’s Unstable, Twenty2 found many opportunities knocking at their door, from a three-week tour with Rise Against to regular airplay on Quebec’s Musique Plus. Then, New School Records presented them with an offer they couldn’t refuse: the re-release of their first three records, all crammed together on one disc!

Still Busy is a 16-track compilation of Twenty2’s first three CDs, originally released in the early stages of the band’s career. From the first track to the last, listeners will find themselves drawn into the technical guitar riffs, fast-paced drums and unique vocal style that only Twenty2 can deliver. With appealing new artwork and crisp, digitally re-mastered sound, Still Busy will soon be labeled a must for any Twenty2 fan, and will undoubtedly gain respect from punk rock fans everywhere.

I guess I have to write a few more sentences before submitting a review...hopefully this will suffice.

Unstable is better.

You have to hand it to a band like Twenty2, with whom the fans quite obviously come first. This album, a compilation of thier pre-new school releases, is a must for any fan. Though some of the tracks could use a sound quality boost, a fan's understanding is all it takes, and this record will stay in your stereo for weeks. The band has already proven thierselves as a high octane live act, and now the world knows that Twenty2 is "Still Busy".

Awesome songs! This is classic Twenty2. I remember when I first got Keepin' Busy I was amazed by the speed and just the "true punk rock" of it. Now with Still Busy I get so much more all in one.

The only other cd I'd heard from them was Dudes of Hazzard and I thought it was decent, but this cd is fantastic. It's really fast and it doesn't have much filler. Kind of reminds me of late-90's Slick Shoes.

not too bad, the cd progressivly gets better, which would be obvious because its just a bunch of releases compilied into one cd. Good straight up punk rock, kinda poppy at times but also has somewhat of a harder side too.
