really harsh on the ears. i might be more appreciative if they were one of my favorite bands. but for those not NA diehards i dont see why you should spend the $ on this. nice history lesson inside, which i do really appreciate

If youve never heard NA then get the "total recall" CD first. If you're a die-hard then pick this bastard up. It is brutal, nihilistic PUNK straight from the old-school. Bands today can't even compare to this shit.

Negative Approach was one of the best hardcore bands in the early '80's. Although the sound is far from perfect, I prefer the live tracks here to the ones on "Total Recall" and the demo stuff is good, too. If you already own "Total Recall", pick this one up, too. If you don't own "Total Recall", what are you waiting for? Fans of Minor Threat, early Posion Idea and 7 Seconds and the like won't be disappointed.

A 5 on the richter scale! Always quite fond of the the soft, gooey hardcore goodness of NA... I was just giddy to know that they were going to release some demo/live recordings I did not have yet. But the classic worry follows... will the demos sound so shitty you can't listen to them? or ... Will the live tracks sound like they were recorded up someone's butthole?!?!?! But thankfully, this release is not a bad thing. The first demo is a little shakey sounding but still not bad at all and the 2nd is just fine. Almost the same with the live recordings... the first isn't the best but definitely "passable" and the 2nd is all you could want from a hardcore boot. So if you are an NA/80's US Hardcore head... definitely pick this up... definitely better live stuff than on previous (modern) releases!
