all the briefs records are great records, but i would have to go out on a limb and say this is my favorite. i would say buy all their stuff though. i got into them late, but they quickly became one of my favorite bands. get their new dvd as well. hope they play for years to come, because it's bands like these that shows punk rock will never be dead.

Not as good as "Off the charts", but still an OK punk album.The Briefs is a cool band but on this album some of the songs are kind of silly and not as catchy.

This is one of my favorite albums of all time. I bought this album after hearing alot of talk about how cool the briefs were. Before this I never really listened to them I had a promotion demo thing from a magazine with them on it but I didn't really pay attention to it, I kind of regret it. So don't delay buy this album as soon as you can

The Briefs are the next big thing. PERIOD

Every album they've released is jam packed with energy fun and silliness. This one has some classics like I'm a Raccoon and Dolly Parton. This gives you a general idea of what you're getting into. Not too pissed really just having fun and doing it new wave style. AWESOME!!!

not bad. i always here that the briefs sound very new wave-ish, but i personaly dont hear it. it has nice fast short songs, but with really im-mature lyrics, yet sorta funny. give it a try,

During at least one outstanding show, the Dead Kennedys became a new wave band for a moment and performed "Pull My Strings," a song that parodied the Knack with lyrics like, "I'll make my music boring! I'll play my music slow." You get the feeling from Hit After Hit that the Briefs were at that show and derived their mantra from Biafra's wisdom. They go to extraordinary lengths to keep their music from being either boring or slow, with an almost self-destructive antipathy towards commercial rock 'n roll. "Silver Bullet" is the lynchpin of the album, a minute-long tirade against classic rock tyrant Bob Seger. That song alone explores several methods of violent incapacitation, a theme revisited throughout the record. Unlike most bands in the modern rock canon, though, the Briefs have no apparent agenda to fulfill, no grand enemy whose defeat would actually mean anything. Then again, those alienated punk rock kids probably won't give a damn. Hit After Hit has everthing they could possibly want from a band like this, and it won't try their patience in the least.

Ok, I was looking for a good, pure-punk band with all of this emo stuff going around, and I found the Briefs "Orange Alert" video on, of all things, Yahoo Launch. I thought it was great, so I went and bought that album that got the best reviews on this site. The punk sound is solid and frantic, but the songs are actually TOO short, and the lyrics are overly silly. Even the Ramones would dismiss some of the song subjects as below the intellect of their average listener. I may pick up a later Briefs album, hoping they've matured lyrically, because "Orange Alert" is a great song.

When i first got this cd i didn't like it that much, but after listening to a couple more times i couldn't take it out of my cd player. Every song is extremly good. You could listen to this cd 10 times in a row and not get bored with it. The briefs are awesome. Do us all a favor and buy this freakin cd.

Fist off, if you already own this on Dirtnap Records don't buy it again (It's the same bloody album with no new tracks). The only advantage to buying this CD (if you have the Dirtnap Records version) is that it has the "Poor & Weird" video on CDROM. The is great CD and everyone who loves bands the The Buzzcocks, Weirdos, etc should own this. Amazing band, that has proably the best live show today. From all of their albums, I have to say that this one is my favorite.
