Screeching Weasel

Teen Punks In Heat

Panic Button 257

Released on September 12, 2000

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Teen Punks In Heat is a no-nonsense 20-song blast from Screeching Weasel, the most important punk band in the Midwest today. Screeching Weasel's popularity is based on their single-handed creation of a style of pop-punk music that has inspired imitators all over the world. Considering the band's massive influence, it is no surprise that Teen Punks In Heat sets a high watermark for punk music in the new millennium. Screeching Weasel always manages to accurately report on our uncertain world in an uncompromising voice, sometimes with an acid-tongue and irascibility; other times with humor and love, but always with hope. Songs like "Pauline" continue in a story-telling song tradition developed by Screeching Weasel previously with "Kamala's Too Nice," and "Claire Monet"; while "I'll Stop The Rain," "21 Months," and "The Edge Of The World" feature emotions eloquently laid bare. Produced by Ben Weasel and Mass Giorgini at Acme Studios in Chicago, Teen Punks In Heat features SW's aggressive pop-punk touched by something bittersweet. Screeching Weasel, including new second guitarist Phillip Aaron Presley (from Teen Idols), has created a tight, rough showcase of the band's catchy songwriting.

I don't know why I heard so many negative things about this album?!?! This is damn good Screeching Weasel! Maybe not as good as Anthem or Wiggle, but it definately rates up there. If you love a good mix of sweet and sarcastic pop-punk and down right nasty Weasel then you should really get this.

Another excellent record from Screeching Weasel. It was their last album and it was a good way to leave. They quit before they got crappy. Good choice. I would buy this if I were you.

Screeching weasel's last ever album, were they right to split up or is there still life left in the weasel yet? Well this album is good if not classic like 'Boogada boogada boogada' or 'Anthem for a new tomorrow'. The songs are rapid fire and delivered very much in screeching weasel's characteristic style. Some great tracks like 'I'll stop the rain' and 'Pauline' make this album a good listen. Long live the weasel! Jim

I wish this band would stay broken up already. Don't get me wrong, Screeching Weasel was, at one point, one of my favorite bands (and most of their albums still rock my turntable on a regular basis). But it seems around the time they left Lookout Records, their career was pretty much over. They gave us "Bark Like a Dog" which, despite a few choice tracks, sounded more like some band trying to sound like Screeeching Weasel than the band themselves. Then "Emo" was released, an album featuring, against all ods, NOT ONE GOOD SONG ON THE WHOLE THING! This is the follow up to that. Track one is good, track four is amazing (probably one of SW's best ever), and everything else sucks ass. Don't waste your time or money on this when you could go buy something good like a Cletus album or something.

I must officially be too old for Screeching Weasel, sorry Ben, this didn't do it for me. Some good songs, but the mediocre ones drag the album down.

Don't belive that nonsense, the Weasel will be back and kickin some new jams in no time! The artwork on this cd is worth the purchase alone. Less Toil Kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
