Cave In

Hydra Head 52

Released on August 15, 2000

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

The latest strain from incurable Hydra Head neck-snappers and deadly-sound viral carriers CAVE IN, delivers another debilitating blow to your already weakened rock immune system. An eight-track mutation from the band's previous attacks, that, though not quite as aggressive, is every bit as infectious. Packaged in a fancy, multi-panel digipak sleeve.

I understand this is very unique music that is different from almost anything out there but...I find it boring and annoying. I hate the way the guy sings, sorry but it's just a 2 for me.

An absolutely fantastic release from punk veterans Cave In. I can definitely understand why fans of their earlier material were a little confused by this release, but the old Cave In sound is still there, albeit with a few modifications. There are still plenty of spacey guitar riffs, and Steven Brodsky still does scream in a few spots, but this album definitely leans more towards rock than punk. But don't let that scare you away from buying this album! This is by far one of my favourite albums of all time, and I believe this is an absolute must-have for a good cd collection. Jupiter is a groundbreaking release from one of the best bands to ever come out of this genre. Cave In is one of those seminal bands that have opened doors for so many others who follow in their wake.

whoaaaa. It took me a few listens to completely get this cd, but when I did, it quickly became one of my favorite cds...maybe ever! I love the spacey feel of it all, the production is perfect, nothing is overdone, it feels just right. the songs themselves are sometimes simple, sometimes epic and sprawling. "big riff" is one amazing song, the screams are so all feels so sincere. in short, if you are at all familiar with cave in, this is the cd to get. "antenna" is very good, yes, but get this first, it's a goddamn masterpiece.

After hearing a spattering of songs on a number of comps, I picked up what was totted as their ground breaking CD. I was awe stricken! Sculpting vast landscapes of other worlds and beyond, the writing on this will take you places you didn't think a simple album could. Words can't describe it accurately... so I won't... just buy it. It's unique, and unlike anything you've heard before...

This was my first time at listen to Cave In. I was looking for something different and I think I found it. I love how progressive they are with their hardcore. I will be buying all of their post Jupiter albums, because this really turned me on to them. However, even thought I liked it, I don't think they hit a grandslam with this record. Maybe after I listen to it more I'll change my mind.

How great is this cd? They have a spacey feel to it and I get goosebumps everytime I listen to this cd. The best songs on are "Jupiter", 'In the Stream of Commerce" and "Innuendo and Out the Other". This a must have for anyone who likes Cave In or are into different sounding music. My firends listened to it, and even though they don't like this kind of music they loved Cave In!

Really amazing cd. They drop their hardcore sound for a more indie rock sound which sounds great. Don't get me wrong I liked their hardcore sound too... but I like all types of sounds and when they played hardcore they sounded like most other hardcore bands but now they have a unquie and very good sound indeed...can't wait for the ep to come out.

this is truly one of the greatest cds ever made.

now... cave in had a very strong influence on hardcore with records like beyond hypothermia and until your heart stops. but this album takes a totally different approach. it has a very space rock feel, almost like a radiohead with an edge. this music will inspire music once again and have an effect on music like their previous albums did to hardcore.

i recommend this to anyone who likes space rock or bands like radiohead... but also to people who listen to hardcore but are looking for something new.

Well, don't expect to hear brutal vocals and heavy as hell tunes like the old Cave In. This is the new Cave In and they have brought there talent to a whole new level. The music on this album is interestingly unique. The guitar parts are kinda heavy but pretty and then break down into this strange, space/egyptian-ish, hard to describe riffs with effects on some songs that totally blew me away. The vocalist does'nt really scream eather on this album, he sings with alot of power and loud, and I mean nicely. Also there are some space-ish sounds sampled into the songs that are nice addition. I can't exactly compare them to any other band that I know of, which is a good thing. All around I was seriously impressed and I highly recommend you check it out.

A different step for the band. This space rock/emo album is still a good listen. Though for fans of older Cave In, this might not be for you. I really like the overall sound of the album, and it has great lyrics. I think this is an improvement for the band, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next. Buy this album if you have an open-mind on music.
