While I heard of this band I never heard any songs by them. One day I was just browsing youtube and heard one of the songs from this album and I really liked it. So I just decided to pick up one of their albums. It seems a lot of people here liked their newer albums better, but I like the raw indie rock/emo sound on this one. Every song flows well into the next one. It may lose some energy near the end, but that's largely because I'm more familiar with the first half to three fourths and didn't make it to the end in every listen so far.
I'll give it a 5 as it is closer to that than a 4. Highly recommended. I tend to hate myself when I don't find some albums sooner. So if you haven't heard anything from this album yet, I wouldn't wait much longer. It's very passionate musically and vocally.

This is ultimately a very strong album. It is not one of my favorite ASC albums, but it is a very good indie rock/post-emo record. The drumming stands out as it is creative and hectic but still tight. This is one ASC album that I sometimes find boring, but the raw power and emotion throughout the record still makes it a must own for fans of the band. If you are just getting into this band, I would suggest getting the Low Level Owl records first. Those are ASC at their absolute best.

Appleseed cast is one of my favorite bands, and when it comes to slow, not emo but melodic nice sounding music, they ARE my favorite. This isn't my favorite cd's of theirs tho, its proly my least favorite but it kicks ass nonetheless, get two conversations first!

ahh the cast right before the epic and my favorite "low leve owl" releases. mare vitalis is much rawer, grittier and darker. the rhythm section is what blows me away the most with these guys, the drums are rockin and the guys boast a melancholy groove with a definite rock edge. oooh and check out their latest, "2 conversations" pure ear candy. it bares a few more listens with me before i slap a perfect 5, but im sure ill fall in love completely soon enough just as i had with the llo's

I'm always indecisive about Appleseed Cast albums. There are just times where I'll be sitting in my room and I'll be like, "Whoa, this band is fucking amazing", then other times I just say "This is really boring." Different music for different moods so my score is a 4 because I'm gonna go mostly with the times I love this stuff and a little bit of the times where it bores me. So yea, hanging out late at night while eating crackers and doing some random dumb thing I give it a 5, wanting to rock out in your car, I give it a 2. I say buy it, but listen to it at the right times. Please? C'mon just do it. You know you want to. Wait, don't leave yet. HEY!! Where are you going!?

i had bought the llo albums before i bought this one. i'm glad i did buy this album. every song on here is the perfect compliment for the next. there is not one bad song on here and there is a hidden track with cobra drumming. by far my favorite track on the entire disc.

I bought this CD along with "End of the Ring Wars," another great Appleseed Cast CD. I had really only heard songs off that CD, so I pretty much listened only to that one. About a month after I bought this CD I went back and listened to it all the way through. I was ashamed that I had let this CD slip through the cracks. It's really, really good. You can easily listen to the whole thing straight through. Some songs on here contain some of the most creative musicianship I have heard in a long time. It kind of gives a strange aquatic feeling to it... it sounds strange, but it really does. The drumming stands out most of all though. I'm a guitarist and I really appreciate the drumming on this CD more than any other CD I own. It's so unconventional, yet it seems like it couldn't be any other way. You really have to listen to some of the songs to understand what I mean. I really recommend this CD to everyone. It would be hard not to appreciate this CD.
