Rocky Votolato

Rocky Votolato

Second Nature 72

Released on July 15, 2008

WAXWING leader and all-around genius-guy ROCKY V. shows his more Elliott-Smith side with a fifteen-song solo-acoustic affair of the heart. Sensitive, caring, emotional-a perfect fit for the punk in need of a nap.

This is much slower than his other albums, but has a couple of great songs, and some skippable songs (but not bad). If you like acoustic music with one extremely talented lyricist/vocalist then this is right up your bowling shoes ... errrrr alley.

*swoon* I can't begin to tell you how soothing this man is to me. He is the coolest songwriter I can think of, besides maybe Oberst and Elliott Smith. BOY I CAN'T BEGIN TO TELL YA HOW MUCH I LIKE MELLOW SINGING! Rocky's band Waxwing is also worth checkin' out.. then, while you're at it, hop on other to Cody Volotato's band the Blood Brothers. Theres something that'll blast your ass apart. YEAH! A sticker that proudly graces the back of my car. In ending, I heart you, Rocky.

This cd is great for those nites where you just feel like sitting in your room and relaxing. Rocky writes beautiful lyrics backed by creative guitar. It makes you stop and listen to what he has to say. Not really a sing along cd, but more a backround music for a quiet nite or music to listen to through head phones and appreciate this smart artist
