Casualties

Early Years 1990-1995

Punk Core 4

Released on September 28, 1999

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Fall 1990. The streets of New York City are a bleak and barren wasteland for the few punk rockers left to roam the streets in search of a scene that has long since disappeared. A scene that had succumbed to the vapid joke of grunge posing, metal crossover wank, East Bay-inspired cheese pop, and crust-covered free-ride morons. It is upon this modern urban tragedy that a small band of spiked-haired merrymen decided to liquor-up and make a stand to resurrect the once glorious sounds and style of the leather, bristles, studs and acne punk past. That group of daring and fearless heroes was THE CASUALTIES, and this is their story. A seventeen-track collection of rare and long out-of-print material taken from their 40 Ounce Casualty debut EP, the unreleased Drinking Is Our Way of Life EP, their second A Fuckin' Way of Life EP, a couple of compilation tracks, and their entire ten song 1990 demo (on the CD only). PAckaged with a twelve-page booklet with lyrics, photos, discography, history and more.

Well, well, well...The Casualties. My favorite band ever. And the talk about them being capitalists posers really pisses me off, cuz I mean...playing music is their JOB, and to be in a band, you NEED to make money if you wanna keep playing music. Ok? I don't get why you "punx" have to be so judgemental - no one sees you playing music - actually doing something for the scene so shut up. I don't think they sold-out, I just think they grew up, and started over polishing their albums. If you haven't heard anything from The Casualties before, don't get this!!! Get: For the Punx, Underground Army, Die Hards, Who's In Control?, (this), Under Attack, On The Front Line, and Stay Out of Order. By the way, punk isn't about what you LOOK like, it's what you beleive in - just cuz you're "anti-conformist" about the "look", doesn't mean you're hardcore, and just cuz your mohawk is 12 inches, doesn't mean you're D.I.Y. I could keep going, but I'll leave it at that. Oh! And see them live - even if it mean Warped Tour!!! UP THE PUNX!!!

This is a really good punk CD. In my opinion its the best CASUALTIES cd. The track list says that there is 17 songs but there is really 27 songs and it clocks in at about 54 minutes long. If your into punk you sould buy this shit for sure.

fucking awsome!!!

though, i hafta say that almost all the songs have the same lyrical content (i hate everyone, fuck everyone, we're gonna get drunk and spike our hair and fuck anyone who has a problem w/ that cuz we're so punk)

still good, because its raw, loud, and fast

i love this album. its so raw and gritty. their old stuff is so good (even if they could hardly play their instruments and had bad sound quality. but thats what punk is about, isn't it?) for the punx and punk rock love are the best songs. get this

Completely unintelligent lyrics, horrible music but yet somehow still manages to be a good album. The Casualties older stuff is great to listen to, it's excellent driving music and good to listen to while your taking a shit.
