Half Fiction

New American Dream 23

Released on September 7, 1999

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

AVAILABLE AGAIN!!! The second album from these heart-on-sleeve Floridian emo-core hook-meisters. Often thought of as a Jawbreaker with female vocals, and for all the right reasons. Let's rip.

Great CD. Awesome artwork, thought-provoking words. The music is really fun, but at the same time, a little nostalgic. It's weird. Good driving music. If you're just getting into Discount, buy this CD.

I was driving around listening to this in the car, and yep its pretty good. If you want melodic, catchy(I'll resist tagging it with the pop-punk label, as I believe that label should be reserved for bands that have the mass-appeal asthetic in their music , i.e. Good Charlotte and their friends, but I digress.)This is a fun CD, the songs are relly catchy and fairly short. The lyrics are above average and the singer has a good female punk voice. If you enjoy intelligent catchy punk you should check this band out. Favorite songs are: Half Fiction, CLap and Cough, and Pocket Bomb, but the slow song (whose name escapes me at the moment) is the only song that distracts from an otherwise good album.

The majority are labeling this as emo. As usual, the majority are wrong. This is straight up dynamic pop-punk with an excelent female vocalist and awesome, metaphoric lyrics. Allison, the singer, can sound angry and soothing at the same time while singing. The words paint pictures, as most good words do. I highly reccomend.

Now here is something that everyone should buy. The vocals are really good and so is the music. There is little negative that I could say about this album. The songs are very well thought out and well sung. If only they didnt break up I would of liked to see them play. Buy this cd.

Well, i got this album after hearing a few songs on comps that i had, but i was very unsure if i would like the album. I generally don't get into bands that have female vocals, with the exception of Sleater Kinney, i guess because i feel i can't sing along or sumptin'. But i decided to take a risk and buy it anyway. I am really glad i did, too, because this is one of the best albums i've heard in the last few months. This chick can sing like nobodys business. It's not just her vocal talents that make this album great, however. The songs are beautifully put together to make catchy tunes that will stick in your head until you go insane. There is not a bad song on this album. You owe it to yourself to buy it, just take the chance and do it. i did and i am thrilled about it. I liked them so much that a few weeks later i purchased their Crash Diagnostic LP, and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything compared to half fiction. So just get this already!!!
