Well Idjit Savant is a later era Dickies album. Let me be straightforward and say this one isn't as great as the Dickies first two classic albums Dawn Of The Dickies and The Incredible Shrinking Dickies. I also feel that this effort isn't as strong as All This And Puppet Stew. It is however still a very solid effort. I don't want to be so negative since Idjit Savant is a good effort but I got to ramble on about something.

This album starts out pretty strong with songs like Toxic Avenger, Just Say Yes, & Zeppelina. The best track on here is their cover of Golden Boys. Some might be familiar with the song Golden Boys as NOFX has also brilliantly covered this amazing Vagina Dentata song on their Never Trust A Hippy EP. The songs later on down the line are pretty ok, they're not bad by any means but it just seems like there could have been far more potential there that was wasted. That's what I guess happens when you have drug problems and it takes you 6 years or so to release another album.

So to conclude, if you haven't bought Dawn Of The Dickies or the Incredible Shrinking Dickies yet then I highly suggest you do so, those are both great albums. Also check out their later era album All This And Puppet Stew. I know some people dismiss Puppet Stew as crap but I think it's great and has the Dickies back at their peak. After that be sure to check out this album and try and track down the Killer Klowns EP. Enjoy!
