Drive Like Jehu

Yank Crime (Includes Bonus 7")

Head Hunter 37

Released on February 15, 1994

Classic 1994 album repressed on black vinyl with the Hand Over Fist b/w Bullet Train to Vegas 7" included, still at a great price. With every member cranking the intensity and volume up to 11, Yank Crime is an out-of-control muscle car of an album veering between short, sharp blasts of chaotic fury and longer multi-faceted compositions that let the band stretch out without losing their intensity. Features Rick Froberg on vocals/guitar (Hot Snakes, Pitchfork, OBITS), John Reis on guitar (Pitchfork, Rocket From The Crpyt, Hot Snakes, Sultans, Nightmarchers), Mike Kennedy on bass and Mark Trombino on drums. Cover artwork by Rick Froberg.

Essential record if you're into post-hardcore...shit, if you're into any sort of ____-core. As has been said before, mind-blowing guitar ideas (not in the Botch or Minus the Bear sort of way, but the arrangements are nuts), and calling the rhythm section hard-hitting is an understatement. Marathon-length songs that don't get boring. A must-have.

still in print and still really damn good. no lyric sheet but who the hell cares, this is like indie rock for people with balls. i'll take it over pitchfork, maybe cause it's more mature or something. they shoulda just threw in their 1st 7" and made this a 2xlp, seriously... a 7" and an lp, suck it jehu.

No what I was expecting but still good. I was looking for more along the lines of The Sultans or Rocket From the Crypt. This is really nothing like either of those bands. I will just call it different. Good but different.
