Heroin was one of the earliest San Diego hardcore bands (who were inspired mostly by Drive Like Jehu) that ended up spawning a whole screamo movement. Matt, Heroin's singer, started Gravity Records, which helped to further the evolution of screamo/post-hardcore music across the West Coast.
