Nothing ground breaking but it's good. 3 and a half stars for this one. I don't find myself reaching for the CD itself too often, but when it comes up in the mighty shuffle it'll make me scream along...I just have too much damn music I guess.

This CD isn't as immediate as some other modern straight-up hardcore records, but that certainly isn't too much of a bad thing. The Promise are definitely trying to do their own thing while keeping things within the hardcore blueprint, and they do pretty well at carving out their own abrasive, hard-edged sound that's rooted in late 80's youthcrew stuff like Judge but which has taken enough steps forward to ensure it sounds fresh, modern and exciting.
It's good to see bands taking hardcore forwards without resoting to diluting the message with metal or emo sections, and it's great to see that it's possible to make a fresh-sounding hardcore record. This band are fantastic live and nearly as good on record. Go buy!

At firt wasnt to into most of this CD, the first song is awesome and a real anthem, but after that i wasnt too keen on the rest.
However after giving it all a fair few lisents i realised that this is an awesome record overall. Think terror slowed down with more inteligent lyrics and the same passion. Good metalic hardcore sXe, get it, sing along, stamp on heads (in a positive way!).

An Awesome Cd from aband that I think features ex-members of Another Victim and Turmoil (I think).
The cd is real good, its nice and short (like 25 minutes) so the first few times it wahes over you a bit, but after a few listens you'll be loving it
The vocalist reminds me a lot of the new Day of Contempt CD.
Good Stuff

Oh, MY, GOD. I have been waiting for a Cd like this for a while. East Coast Hard Core at its finest. Heavy ass chopping guitar parts, great vocals, and most important of all Insane breakdowns. Well done.
