One Man Army

Rumors And Headlines

(Chip From US Bombs)

BYO 85

Released on October 15, 2002

The latest from San Francisco's beloved classic-sounding punk rock trio. Rocking it since '96, the band has a tight, solid and rip-ready take on the genre, and pulls no punches as they move up and beyond their peers with a lyrical and structural content rarely matched. Oh, and check it out, they recently hooked CHIP HANNA-formerly of the US BOMBS-to take on the drumming.

One of my favorite albums. I bought it because Dead To Me is my favorite band, and I had heard that a lot of the DTM influence comes from Jack's old band, One Man Army. They are definitely different bands, but I can see why people compare them, melodic punk rock. Its just fun, raw melodic punk. Some really fantastic songs on it, such as "Victoria", "S.O.S", "Leave Me Alone" If you like catchy punk rock, thats real and not overproduced, check this out. I don't know why its the only OMA album Interpunk carries, but its an excellent one. 5/5.

My favorite One Man Army song is on this album, so I had to get it. Good stuff, but I prefer their other album, "Last Word Spoken".

One Man Army continued to get better with each release. Out of their four main releases, this would be second, right behind the BYO split.

If you're getting into OMA, go in reverse order of their releases.

Best tracks here: "Victoria", "Rotting In The Doldrums", "S.O.S.".

I got this CD because of their tracks on the excellent split w/Alkaline Trio. While I really enjoyed the tracks on the split, this album is actually better. Totally catchy '77-style punk. I love every song. Too bad they broke up!

this is my 1st cd from one man army and i must say im not dissaponted in the slightest. they have an old 80s style punk that is very refreshing compared to what u normally hear nowadays. chip hanna is a nice addition to a great band. also looking forward to the Alkaline trio split w/ them. that should be awsome. this is russell not cynthia

Simply amazing. This is a band that just seems to get better and better with each release. This time around with Chip Hannah on the sticks, I think OMA will shine in 2003. Great record with amazing songs. You can see a growth in the band musically, but its a good one. I highly recomend you buy this record.

Oh no! What is this??! One Man Army has been one of my favourite bands along with dinosaurs like The Clash and SLF, but this CD is not good at all. Their earlier albums contains some of the best punk-rock songs I've heard for years, but this a total disappointment. Most of it is really bad acctually. "Rumours And Headlines" sounds like a collection of B-sides.
