This comp is not bad at all. Red Animal War, the Applecast Cast, and Planes Mistaken for Stars were the highlights on this CD. The other bands are either average to good (the exception being Benton Falls; their terrible). Not as good as the third comp or the Too Young to Die CD, but a lot better than comp #5 (Sounds like Violence? more like Sounds like Crap).

Brandston sucks... I don't know why that is the sample song. The rest of the songs are great and represent EMO in a perfect manner. Not too poppy, this comp is great to get an idea of Deep Elm's great music.

My freind tried to get me into this because Red Animal War... but now i realize by listening to this that emo sucks. I'll take Aveged Sevenfold ( great band!) or Thrice or even Tober over this crap anyday.

the soundtrack to crying into your rucksack. Last Days of April and Appleseed Cast stand out, and you should probably know about Brandtson already - if not, why not? Cheap and work checking out.

Good sampler for the price tag, I find with most samplers that the songs are usually below par. that is definately not the case here, Deep Elm has a promising future and a good line up. I was impressed by Logh and Red Animal War, overall a good little sampler.

This is a very good comp. cd, as are most of the other deep elm comps. It is well worth the price tag. So take a chance and check out some of deep elm's finest. Appleseed Cast, Planes Mistaken for Stars, Last Days of April, Brandtson, and Red Animal War were highlights for me.

Great comp. Deep Elm always release top notch compilations (this series and the Emo Diaries). It has great songs from The Appleseed Cast, PMFS, Red Animal War, and Desert City Soundtrack. If you like Volume 2 or 3, might as well get this one too. It has that same awesome Deep Elm sound. It's cheap too.
