This album is comprised of songs recorded over 3 nights during the 2002 St. Patrick's Day weekend in our home town of Boston, MA. This is something we've wanted to do for a while: to capture the show live, to capture the audience, the atmosphere, the blood, the sweat, the tears, and the beers. Every time we do a new studio album, there's always one thing missing - YOU - the most important member of the band; our inspiration and motivation, our best backup singers and sometime lead singers. Well, this time we got you. That's right, 3 shows and 75 plus songs recorded. You were great on all 75; the 25 that we didn't screw up are on this record. -Dropkick Murphys. LP is a Double LP

This is definitely a cd that I can recommend. It got a lot of tracks on it, and they are all great. If you are new to dropkick then don't get this cd first. It is so much cooler to hear the live stuff when you already know the studio versions. So go out, get Sing Loud Sing Proud. Then do ore die or the first single collection. Gangs all here is all right I guess, but I would get the other ones before. Anyway, if you like the studio stuff, then this is a must-have. But seriously get everything by Dropkick Murphys, also the newer stuff. It is great.

Much as I hate to say something is just "good", there's really no way to diss a band like the Dropkick Murphys. Their songs are well chosen and well played, much as they would have you believe otherwise. This may be one of a few, if not the only punk band that can say, "This song's called Amazing Grace. Everybody sing along!" Many of the songs they're known for are covers or traditional pub songs, but you get the feeling that they actually mean something coming from the Murphys. I'm glad I didn't hear many of the songs on this CD in their album versions, because they don't change the arrangements much for their concerts. "Gang's All Here" sounded a bit too familiar. Over all though, it's a good reminder that there are still bands that haven't become so bitter at the world that they start to suck.

This CD kicks so much ass it hurts. They definitely got all the great songs on there, with the good old Boston crowd to complete it. The sound quality is the best you're going to get on a live CD. 'nuff said.
