This is about the best live document of The Damned "officially" out right now. The first several tracks are a reunion of the original Damned with Brian James on lead guitar. He plays a Telecaster rather than his signature Gibson SG that he used on Damned Damned Damned and Music For Pleasure so the guitar is twangy and mildly distorted. The rest of the set consists of the Machine Gun Ettiquette line-up with Captain on lead guitar. Brian James comes out for a finale of MC5's "Looking At You". This was the highlight of the DVD featuring a duel guitar battle between the Captain and James. Also featured are Rat Scabies setting his drums on fire and Captain stripping naked at the end of the show. Check this out if your a huge fan and a completist but I'm waiting for a future release of a better show to tell you the truth.

Best live band. Worst DVD. If you can't find the hard to find VHS version of this reunion show, go see them live when they come around your town. Don't buy this. Unless of course you wanna hear a nostalgic brit go on and on about how much he loves them. We love them, too, dawg. But I don't feel the need to have my own microphone at their shows and talk over The Damned to tell the other fans just how great they are. Lose the commentary and this would be such an essential purchase. Hey, Dave Vanian trips and almost falls. I won't tell you where and when. It's for you to look for. SCAVENGER HUNT. EXPEDITION, EVEN! It doesn't quite push this DVD over to MUST HAVE but it sure makes things exciting now, huh? Wordz.
