Brutal, ferocious, tragic. Those words and more can be best used to describe As Hope Dies on their stunning sonic debut "Birth Place And Burial Site". This is a pretty neat CD. Death Metal/Hardcore hybrid with melody and atheist lyrics. Can you go wrong? No. Best songs on here: Birthplace And Burial Site, Awaken, and Letters Of Our Existence. The intro is pretty cool as well, the way it goes straight from the melodic to the heavy. Vocals are good also. If you like this, get "The Ascension Attempt" by The Blinding Light.

Ferocious, brutal, fast, melodic, harmonious, whatever words you choose to describe As Hope Dies their music will shrink your bones and wet your pants. The band describes themselves as "death metal," but don’t worry cos' it doesn't sound like any of the shit that that fat bastard from the Osbourne’s listens to. If you like the mp3, or even if you can’t be arsed to listen to it, then I highly recommend that you buy the e.p. as it is the most incredible music I have ever heard... too bad they are disbanding later this year... sXe

Holy shit. Best band I've found out about this year. New album should have come out today, but it got pushed back, dammit! Oh well, you can't go wrong with this EP, it's amazing. Everyone song is a hit, they're brutal and fast but at the same time beautiful, which is hard to pull off. Help these guys out, and get their new album, going to be great!

Oh my fucking god this band rocks. The first track is a nice instrumental with pianos and violins that gets you amped up. Right off the bat As Hope Dies shoves their great sound into your ears. Hell if I know how I would describe this band...hardcore+scream? Beats me.
