This album is unbelievably good. You can still call Against Me! sellouts because of what they're doing today but that doesnt change how great this album is. I ve listened to almost everyday since i bought it last month and i reccomend it to anyone with a passing interest in the folk punk stuff.

Finally got around to buying this. This album reminds me so much of my youth. Such a powerful album, although song songs have better versions on the acoustic album and Crimes than on here. Classic AM!

There is definately a distinction between this disc and "new wave" Against Me! This is an edgier more rough version of Against Me, what they built the band off of. Intellectual punk songs about politics and life, with a hint of folk and melody. Overall, very good listening. Searching for a former clarity, though a more "smoothed over" disc, also has some very good music on it.

I remember the first time I heard this album (also first time I heard this band) I thought to myself "what the f*ck is this!?!?" This guy can't sing, the guitar has no distortion, but the sense of urgency and sincerity in this are unmatched by ANY album to this day. The lyrics are 100% real and witty and everything you could hope for in a punk album. Their take on the anarchist punk song is completely unique. I've NEVER heard anarchy put so poetically. The lyrics to Reinventing A.R. are EXACTLY what I and, I imagine, so many other people fed up with the b*llshit wank spewing from the ass of the music industry are feeling. Sad to say, Against Me's releases post RAR fade in comparison. While still very good, nothing compares to this. If you buy one record the rest of your life, BUY THIS! This is probably the 5th time I've botten this cd. It follows me everywhere.

This cd is so full of passion, it's unbelieveable. This is one of my favorite albums ever created. Get their ep's and As Eternal Cowboy too..
Searching for a former clarity is nothing compared to this.

Reinventing Axl Rose is pure passion, and raw attitude. Against Me! puts together primitive drumming, hacking guitars, and terrible vocals into something that is both catchy and original.
This album is packed with top of your lungs sing alongs, that no matter what, you can sing to because everyone can sing better than front man Tom Gabel... his voice is terrible, I love it. They seem to mix punk with country, folk, and crack... wich equals sexy results.
For me this record was great, the lyrics are good, but not genius.. yet. Much like Tom's singing skills, the lyrics have a little way to go. But they met my expectations with thier next release. But what against me! laks in musiciansihip, they make up for with thier passion.
This album is like nothing I've ever heard before... and I've yet to hear anything else like it to date. I give it 4.5 because of its originality and passion.

This is some classic Against Me! shit. I have seen them live, and they played a lot of these songs on their set. These guys are incredible live if you ever get the chance. I would kind of describe this as acoustic folk punk.
