This CD is pretty rocking. The most notable song on here and my personal fave is Songbird. Another good song is the title track Demure. This guy has like a totally different voice that is new and refreshing. Buy the CD man!

demure is a beautifully crafted album. engine down are definitely on their way to greatness - their live shows are incredible, their instrumentals are awesome, and their songs definitely display a lot of talent. they are going in a really amazing direction, but they aren't completely there yet. thus, four. i can't wait to hear more of these guys.
check 'em if you like thursday, armor for sleep, cursive, or co & ca.

the shit. the other review on this site doesn't do this record justice. this is some of the most compelling post-punk i have ever heard. "songbird" and "pantomime" are the standouts here. for the post rock challenged, keely and jonathan from ed are denali. keely sister who sings in that band guests on "pantomime". its hard to compare but if i had to i would say early early promise ring or new fugazi, although engine down is better than both of those bands have ever been. frodus is another good basis for comparisson however, that is more prevlent on "the present tense of pretense". amazing

This album is absolutely amazing!! I have never been this impressed with a crockin band since texas is the reason. The drums are awesome and the guitar was equally enthrawling. As homer simpson would say this album is "Groin grabbingly good!" In this album the band has stayed true to their live sound. Buy this or be grabbed!
