Thought Riot

Shattered Mirror Syndrome

A-F 15

Released on March 19, 2002

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

What do you do when you're 17, into horror-punk bands like SAMHAIN and DANZIG, and have something to say but no one will listen to you? You do exactly what the members of THOUGHT RIOT did in 1997, you start a band! THOUGHT RIOT hail from California's East Bay, the home of A.F.I., the band THOUGHT RIOT is most often compared with. With a dark, yet hyper-energetic, creative sound that is a mix between THE MISFITS and A.F.I., the members of THOUGHT RIOT live for their band and the positive message it carries. Marc from Thought Riot explains; "Right from the start, our goal was to write the best music possible and be a source of information." Every indication is that THOUGHT RIOT has begun to achieve their goal. Shattered Mirror Syndrome,"THOUGHT RIOT's debut full length is nothing short of sensational music weaved together with insightful, meaningful lyrics.

Personally i don't think it's as good as Sketches of Undying Will but it's still a great album, mostly fast tempo, lots of octaves, good lyrics. I can now see why people say they are similar to AFI. favourite song - patriot.

ahhh Thought Riot is awesome. I've been a afi fan for a couple years, and definently a fan of old afi. but people are crazy to say this band sounds like old afi or new or any. I will say that Marc has a similar voice to Davey and is very talented like Davey, but that does not mean the are the same band. people should listen to whats goin on behind the voice. The actually music and structure in the songs is so different from AFI and any other band. Thought Riot is very original i think. The riffs and way the songs are put together blow away most punk bands. these guys are such talented songwriters, especially for a first release. the lyrics are incredible. the singer marc is so smart, and his political views are nuts. this is one of my favorite cds and fav bands. incredible talented aggressive and solid album.

Whoa, I dunt no. I think the more i listen to it, the more it sounds like some older AFI. In this case, I think its a bad thing. Alot of good songs on here but it was missing something. The song "sign of the times" is perfect however.

this cd is in the top 5 of all time. thought riot is just fucking awsome. the lyrics are breath taking as they give true messages about the gov. sounding much like A.F.I they can't go wrong. also i saw these guys live with like 20 people at the cobalt cafe. it was hands down the best show i have ever seen. they had more energy than most bands combined. i think they only took like 1 break for water the whole time. thought riot is just the best, buy this cd or else your missing out on some of the best music ever performed and i just feel sorry for you. it is necessary to add this one to your collection. my favorite song is of friends and mistakes.

This is a pretty good CD I would suggest if you are into Anti-Flag and AFI because it sounds like these 2 bands a lot. If you heard the A-F demo and heared their songs, those are there best songs.
