for some reason i wanted a weakerthans cd and got these guys and the weakerthans switched up somehow.... oops i suck. imagine the teen idols and screeching weasel teaming up to make the most boring punk imiginable. im sorry but without the hot chick on bass with the awesome harmonies the singer just seems lost.... just cuz you have been in some awesome bands doesnt mean you can just release straight up shit and expect me to like it. i dunno maybe their other stuff is good.

amazing. being a big pop punk fan,and loving screeching weasel, riverdales etc,i bought this to explore other SW type bands. This album has to be my favorite cd ever at the moment(not of all time of course). The songs are awsome(a little darker than what I expected them to sound like, considering "21st century power pop riot" wasnt anything like this release)but darker sounds better considering dan shaffers vox were not ment to be happy In my opinion. The guitar solos are cool. The fit with the song so well. This album has not one bad song. get it

This is nothing but excellent Ramones-inspired punk rock; it’s simple, fast, and fun. One problem though with bands like The Methadones sticking so close to this formula is that the songs will tend to blend together & sound too similar to each other... but Dan Vapid is a pro at this type of music so there are plenty of great songs on this CD so that it never gets boring. Solitude, Take A Look, Hygiene Aisle, Past Mistakes, Ill At Ease, Slow Down, and Whole Lot Of Nothing are all kick ass songs. If you are a fan of Screeching Weasel, MTX, The Riverdales, or The Queers then you should check this out if you haven’t done so already.

Fuck yeah!!! And I am going to say the same for Career Objective. The vocals, the guitar, the drums. ALL OF IT HAULS!! This just plain rocks. I can't get tired of this stuff. If you like Screeching Weasel, you'll love it. Fuck it, if you like punk rock . . . buy it. Buy both.

The Methadones are fuckin awesome! If you like Screeching Weasel, the Queers, or the Mopes I would tell you to get this CD. Classic punk rock. It would be even more awesome if they left the Chicago area for a change and did a show in NYC.

Wow...this is such a strange record....not what i expected but hey is that a bad thing? its kinda mellow and easy to listen to when you cant be arsed actually listening to music, if you catch my drift. Best tracks are 'solitude' and 'ill at ease', its weird at first but you get into it...best to listen to it while playing thps2...

Definitely not memorable. I don't have a problem with punk songs sounding the same as long as they're good, but these are all mediocre. Definitely, would recommend the Mopes before buying this one.

This is really more of a Dan Schafer solo album than anything else. The Methadones are a real band now, but this was apparently recorded during a period of activity and Schafer is the only Methadone on the album (the rhythm section is made up of guests B-Face and Dan Lumley, neither of whom where or are permanent members of the band). This music is more along the line of Schafer's old band, Sludgeworth, rather than his more well-known work with Screeching Weasel and the Riverdales. A bit more punky than Sludgeworth, but with all the personal lyrics of that band. You can hear a bit of a Bad Religion influence, particular in the vocals. Nothing mind-blowing, but good stuff nonetheless..

I was very impressed with this album.I expected a screeching weasel or riverdales sound, but was suprised to hear a very catchy, almost bad religion sound.I would recommend this album to anyone who likes straight ahead, fast pop-punk.

The mehtadones are for the more melodic punk listeners. Although they are not that widely known, they should be because they are so good. This CD could have been better, but its good enough. Im rating it a 4 beacuse it did not have enough to hit a five.
