i've been hearing alot about this 'legendary' band the last 5 years and there's a reason why i never heard of head untill they wre slotted th replace the groovie ghoulies at the '07 insubordination fest. the reason is they are painfully bland with horrible lyrics. i love the 7" on goner records, unfortunatly, those are the only 2 songs not included on this cd.don't waste your time/money on this.soooooooooo disapointed.gave it a1 but deserves a 1.1,the music isn't bad just 31 tracks of all of the same chords/chord progressions.

I bought this cd because a local band Johnny Terrien and the Bad Lieutenants cover the Hate Van on there record and play a few Head songs live. Well I didn't get it at first but it was the only cd in my car so I listened to it a few times and by the start of the 3rd time threw I was singing every word and I got it. This is a must have for any collection. Listen to I Can See What You Dig, Magic 8 Ball, and the Hate Van.

between 1999 and 2002, HEAD was all i ever listened to., seriously. I changed everthing about how i wrote songs, these guys were just so different. When i first got the "monkeys" LP, I hated it for a while. I was drinking with B-Face from the queers/ghoulies at a show, I told him that, and he swore to me, "go home and listen to it again" I gave it a chance, and it all came clear. I hadnt heard anything like it before. other than the s/t ramones, side b. This is what Punk Rock was suppose to sound like. Having all this on one cd is great. the singles are brilliant. go buy "the Vapids - charm school dropouts" while your at it.
