Grow Yer Own

Law 2

Released on April 25, 2006

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

The Supervillains have been brewing an explosive cocktail of feel good grooves that blend Reggae, Punk, and Funk in a melting pot that has been breaking boundaries for almost a decade. With that much time invested, their fan base grows like a weed and in turn, the 'Villains stir their audiences into a frenzy that no other mainstream or underground act can hold a candle to. The results of these factors are in the band's 4th studio release, Grow Yer Own. The album volleys splendidly throughout...going back and fourth from Operation Ivy speed punk to Sublime licked reggae, and (since the band comes from deep within the Florida Swamplands) at times Dom (drums) & Skart's (guitar) vocals will emphasize a catchy sing-along "Sweet Home Alabama" type chorus all while keepin' a groove as deep as Funkadelic. Recently, the band has teamed up wtih Pepper, whose own Law Records will officially release "Grow Yer Own" on 4/20/2006 in support of a National tour that the two bands are about to embark on.

This is good songwriting. It's basically a ska/reggae/punk band with just a saxaphone player in the horn section (who, by the way, tears it up). The singer has a somewhat average voice. The lyrics are pretty clever. You'll find this a good listen if you enjoy ska music.

Great cd about getting high and not giving a fuck. Only one song I did not care for, which doesn't change my view on how awesome this cd is. These guys play great live if you ever get the chance to see them do it.
