Button Smasher

It's Alive 1

Released on April 19, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

All of our 7"s come stuffed with a professionally printed cdr w/ booklet + poster Fans of the Methadones, Mopes and Riverdales listen up! The Copyrights sound like the product of a first generation bastard child of the whole poppunk explosion that happened back in the early-mid 90's, but entirely unique. Alot of the true poppunk sound often falls into a cookie-cutter cut-n-paste format, but these four tunes have enough originality and individuality to keep you guessing. Combine that with a killer twin guitar assault, plenty of backing vocals in all the right places, a solid danceable back-beat, Danny Vapid's little brother on lead vocals and you've got yourself a recipe for a classic, top-notch punkrock record!

Good pop-punk. I mean that in the best way possible. Well written catchy songs. I was a little worried that this would be just mediocore but it is worth all the hype around the band. It sort of reminds me of Teen Idols. The package is great. As the description says, you get the 7" on CDR and a poster. WOW! Good job. I will definetly be buying more from the Copyrights.

WOW! What a breath of fresh air. This is my first exposure to The Copyrights, and I was not let down in the least! These four tracks are totally killer. It's the "pop-punk" of the 1990's that I grew up on. With influences like Screeching Weasel, The Ramones, and some early NUFAN, this 7" is a first class selection. Looking at the four tracks individually, I would have to say the title song "button smasher" is actually their weakest recording on this release. However, it doesn't suck by any means, I'm just not a "video game person" therefore the subject matter of the song didn't appeal to me. Personally, "Lets get the fuck out of here" is my favorite song. Every cut on this 7" is great, hooky, pop punk that isn't too "sugary" like most of the crap that we are being force-fed now-a-days! And as a final note, the 7" comes with a CD, and a poster!

Its pop punk alright! I would classify this as I duno Riverdales meet early Green Day meet Squirtgun. Either way good little 7" mine came on Black vinyl. If your in to the Copyrights I suggest picking up any of their full lenghts.

Man The Copyrights sure do know how to write some kick ass tunes. Button Smasher is an awesome tune; a re-recorded version of Button Smasher made its way onto the album Mutiny Pop. There's also nothing greater than singing along to "Let’s Get The Fuck Out Of Here." The other 2 songs are also pretty good. Overall this is one fun 7" and it even comes with a CD-R of all the songs on the 7" so people without a record player won't feel left out.

I was expecting a good 7", and I was slapped in the face by a great one. Every song is at least a ground rule double, or maybe even home a home run. "Button Smasher" and "I'm Not Calling You" ar the standouts to me. I suggest you buy.
