Springman 57

Released on October 19, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

BIG D AND THE KIDS TABLE is one of the few bands truly holding down the fort for wide-eyed, frenzied ska-punk, but are definitely NOT just another ska band. Incorporating the finest elements of dub/reggae, hardcore/punk and gangster/rap, Big D's new album, How It Goes, proves that ska can still be totally friggen awesome even if its dead. With 20 tracks clocking in at over 80 minutes, this will go down in history as one of the best ska/punk records ever.

Good CD,I can see why people are so high on these guys. You gotta love their fiercely independent nature.

One of the best ska bands around today. This band is a breath of fresh air for any fan of ska. I like 18 of the 20 songs on this album. Buy it, you won't be dissappointed. Scott not Missy

An enjoyable CD from beginning to end. The sound quality is solid and the musicianship is top of the line. Even if not every song is a hit, there's enough songs on it to make up for it. The downfall in my opinion is that there singers voice its kind of old after a few songs. I don't own any of there other releases so I can't say if this is there best, but if you get chance to them live, do it, they're great live

with big d's newest full length cd. people either hate it or love it. hate it cuz they "changed" their sound to much. or love it cuz it 72 mintues of pure fucking ska/punk fun. this cd is great just like every big d cd. the sound is different from good luck and shot by lammi but the big d vibe is still there with just a more influenced record. every song is pretty different from the last. from the dub opener of allston village, to the punk anthem of lax, to the hardcore ska of girls against drunk bitches, right to the final pop punk closer of a moment without an end. this cd is a classic and atleast deserves a try. big d is a ska band that a.hasn't sold out, b.ditch the horns, or c.plain suck. if you want a perfect horn filled fun ska punk album, then look no further

good fuckin ska cd..not as good as some other bands (catch 22, reel big fish, mustard plug) but still very good..i usually don't like really long songs but "LAX" is fucking awesome and i can totally identify w/ what they are saying..also really like "bender", its a little change of pace..and "my g/f's on drugs" is great and gave me a good laugh..not giving it a five just because there are a few songs that i skipped because i got bored but overall its a quality cd that i'm glad i bought..and they also scored points on their liner notes when they talk about how most "punk bands" are sell outs..i agree..punk music is more about expressing your opinion and writing your own music rather than conforming to what some bullshit label tells props to big d

This CD had a lot of songs. Big D tried to expand their repetoire a little by going with an older style ska instrumental to kick things off, and then they experimented with some riffs in other songs that almost sounded reminiscent of jazz. I thought this CD really had its moments. In short, if you like Big D then you should have this CD. If you want ska/punk with good vocals, look elsewhere. It's that simple.

Let's just start this one off by saying i bought this CD twice. I took it to school one day and got my french teacher to let me play it in the CD player in class, and as i was going to my locker i must've squeezed to hard and it broke. Anyway, i was devestated, and as soon as it came back in stock on here i had to buy it again.

Sounds of Alliston Village (i think thats the spelling) is a great intro, and the girls' vocals are great. There is a little part between this song and the next, and many if not all songs are like that. In between the first and second songs though, a guy says "Honey, it looks like we're finally going to have a hit album." And you might think thats a little cocky, but after LAX, you sure as hell won't. LAX is one of the best songs i've ever heard- amazing lyrics, amazing horn line, great beat, great to sing along to, and so...true. Another song on here i love is Bender, a drinking song the band wrote. By the way, i know they wrote it and sung it just as a drinking song and then it ended up on the CD because they have a history of just about every song written in the liner notes, which is a great feature. Another great thing in the CD is the song Mr. President, i think thats what its called, or just president. Anyway, i love the lyrics on this one, and how the horn lines are patriotic songs that we all know. "Hey hey President! Yeah, you, President! You're full of-- well you're full of shit!" If you hate Bush you'll love this song. I won't write about every single song, but they're definitely all good. Oh yeah you can't forget the Specials cover, Little Bitch, which they have like 5 videos for on their site. This CD is 77 minutes of musical bliss- DON'T PASS IT UP.

Another solid album from a very solid ska band. This one is way different from Good Luck, and not quite as good, but i still like it a good deal. Its a little less upbeat then i am used to hearing from them, but songs like " My girlfriend's on Drugs" shows they still like to fuck around. Its good , but check out their older stuff first.
