Johnny Cock And The Nuts

Tear You A New One

Bitch Slap 6

Released on September 7, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Johnny Cock And The Nuts are back and better than ever. With Tear You A New One, the band has taken their playing and songwriting to amazing new heights. You could hold the addition of a new nut, I mean drummer, since their self titled debut as the reason for this or it could be having a few more years under their belt as a band. Add to that much better production this time around. One thing that hasn’t changed is the bands sense of humor as you’ll find in songs about drinking, working dead end jobs, sexism, religion, drugs, president Bush, war, disliking Los Angeles, dealing with fame, and anything else the band can find to “gripe” about. As if these 13 new studio tracks weren’t enough to make this an instant punk masterpiece, they went and added 13 more tracks comprising an entire show recorded April 8th, 2003 which includes live versions of songs from both their full length CDs along with a few extra surprises. So with all that said, forget about the first CD and go steal this CD asap. And if that’s not an option buy it here. Even if you think it sucks, the picture on the CD alone is worth the measly 8 dollars for a beer coaster. Of course if you thought it sucked you’d be stupid and wrong!

At first, I was not sure about how this album would sound because I had never heard of the band. When I played the cd for the first time, I was surprised at how much I liked it because I initially bought the cd because the name of the band made me laugh. Overall, I would say that the music is good and I would recommend checking it out.

it's like the dayglos... so if you like the dayglo's, then sure why not. this was a pretty alright cd. i think it's cheap to, get's a little redundant at the end but all in all, it's punk.

I like song six. Its cool. Most of the other songs are good too. The live recordings are pretty good for live recordings. I like the artwork on the cover. Are Johnny Cock's nuts hairy?
