Revenge Is

Revenge Is

(Members Of Exploder, Daybreak,)

Party Hair/Morphius 55

Released on November 11, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Paving over the whimpering echoes of emo in full retreat, REVENGE Is speaks with fervent guitars, slashing melodies, and the tight instrumentation of a proto-rock outfit. Featuring former members of the Exploder and Daybreak, the band rips through EMOTIVE, highly charged melodic vamps with a physicality lacking in most contemporary rock.

"Snake Storm", the album’s opening salvo, spreads a thunderous drum attack against the searing lead vocals of Jesse Lyell, while Matt Grabs guitar amps out at maximum intensity. Modulating rhythms, Autumn Cons speaks in a darker language, with undertones of anxiety turned to angst with agile lyrics and helix like guitar riffs. Finishing off the EP, "Art Attack" explodes into an anti-anthem, setting though provoking imagery against buffeting guitar licks and wild, ecclesiastical arrangements. A confrontational record for fans of gut wrenching rock, Revenge Is offers a direct punch to the raw, unfettered underbelly of post-emo punk.
