Dead Letter Dept

Anthology UK

NooNoo 7

Released on August 25, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Their sound is tricky because so much goes along with the band's songs, that on the first listen it isn't so black and white. With poetic lyrics, unapologetic atheist views and politics that stretch too far to the left to consider them a typical uncaring pop-punk band. "Pop-punk", "power-pop", "straight-up punk rock"; it's easy to throw labels around but not easy for the 3 Canadian guys in dead letter dept. to always swallow them. Canadian punk rockers Dead Letter Dept. bring you their long awaited full length album “Anthology UK” “..sounds….. like the ramones in a head-on collision with green day, with a sprinkling of blink 182 and new found glory every now and then.” – the communion

this is a great collection of 7"s and such of pop-punk by dead letter dept, (aka the stiffs), from toronto. anyone who loved their album on underground operations should pick this up as well, as their earlier material shows great talent and catchy songs. i'm glad i caught these guys before they split.

For those of you who don't know, Dead Letter Dept is an awesome power-pop-punkish band. They've been around for a long time and this release pretty much summarizes their career span up to this point. The cd is in reverse chronological order, starting off with the 3 tracks from their split 7 inch with Left Behind, then their 5 song cd ep, then an unreleased track, then their first album back when they were known as the Stiffs. They're from my area (Toronto), and after seeing them play several times and watching them progress, I'd say they're nothing short of extreme awesomeness. It took a couple of listens for me to really get into some of the songs, but once I caught on to their great melodies and tightness, I orgasmed all over my room! BUY THIS NOW!
