Groovie Ghoulies

Travels With My Amp

Springman 39

Released on August 1, 2003

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Originally pressed by Lookout Records in April of 2000, now on Springman! Like the four directions on a map the four Ghoulies (Kepi-vocals, Roach-guitar, B-face-bass, Amy-drums) have reved up to criss-cross the globe and deliver the Ghoulie gospel! As the rest of the world searches for the next big sound, the Ghoulies find it right in their own back seat: guitars, bass, drums, and vocals... no keyboards, handclaps, tambourines or backup vocals on this one kids. The Ghoulies have stripped it down to the purest essence of rock and roll... the key to the future is in the past! Produced again with Mass Giorgini

I hated their vocalist when I popped it in for the first time. I thought he sounded like crap. I was thinking to myself, "Why the heck did my friend recommend me this crap? Was he joking?" After putting it into my CD booklet for a later re-listen, I went on without having the urge to listen to it again, but after a while, I decided to give it another chance. I noticed that they sound a lot like they want to be the Ramones, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Their vocalist's voice still annoys me a bit, but nowhere near my initial reaction. Decent goth pop-punk album.
