Assert, a name synonymous within the Punk and HC scene, with full-blooded commitment and fierce determination. A determination that has seen their anthemic, barely controlled mayhem tear the roof off venues throughout mainland Europe and the UK. Detonating with their patented brand of ferocity, the scene has borne witness to the birth of a monster. Raw power and aggression offer a rallying cry to the masses whilst pointing it’s finger at the guilty through tales of social dysfunction - escape can only be attained through drug abuse and petty crime. Assert are a testament to the brutal reality of 21st century life, rooting out the enemy within, naming names and openly criticising the close minded, elitist farce known as the Punk Rock scene. Fashion, scene gossip, in fighting, this means nothing to Assert, as their approach to playing out has never changed. An approach that is nothing short of open-warfare. Their declaration of violence attracts newcomers and old timers alike, drawing inspiration from all corners of the aggressive music world. Crossover had been re-born and it’s spirit lives on in Assert. “Anyone who has seen Britt and Co. destroy an audience can confirm that Assert are a fearsome live entity” – Terrorizer Magazine.

Bust out the cider for this one! This has that UK82 sound and pretty much blazes from start to finish. If you're a fan of street politics bands like Broken Bones or The Exploited, then snap this up! Did I mention that Barney from Napalm Death does guest vocals on track #17?

I love this stuff. Raging hc/punk with direct political lyrics. The vocals are very impressing and the singer has a very recognizable voice. This band can please everyone, NY HC fans, anarcho-punk fans, punk/hc fans, crust/trash fans. The music is very fast and maybe a bit repetitive, but Assert is obviously one of the UK hardcore bands, and this is totally and radically anti fascist, anti capitalist music...

PS : the singer of Assert is also now the new singer of One Way System...
