Volcom 1126

Released on June 25, 2002

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

The band weaves an authentic originality in their music casting shades and shadows of rock eras past and present. Positive youth energy, passion, and reflective lyrics, Arkham is a breathe of fresh air and blast of raw power in a pop polluted world.

One of the best punk/metal albums you will ever hear. So many good songs, you wont want to turn it off. My favorite tracks include Better Than Me, Grounds Keep, Driving The Capal Tunnel, Blue and The Bullet, Rock and Rolly Goodness.. pretty much just the entire album rocks. There is still room for some improvements in the vocal arena at some points, but I think that adds to their orginal sound and the overall punk feeling of Mahrka, or Arkham backwards. These guys thrash hard, and rock smooth, just listen to Better Than Me and you will see exactly what I mean. But buy this album while you still can, Arkham has called it quits, and soon this masterpeice will be out of print!

Mahkra is a fairly good debut album from a VERY underrated band. I first heard about Arkham from a Volcom Records sampler I got 2 or 3 years ago and they blew me away with the song 'Glazed'. I highly reccomend this record to people who are into the bands Drive Like Jehu, Fugazi, Rye Coalition, or if you are just sick of the boring so called "Indie" they play all over the radio nowadays.

This band has so much potential. Though this cd is fantastic too, so they are already shining even though they're so young. The musicianship is fantastic, though the lyrics can show a spot of immaturity at times, but they get the job done. To compare them sound-wise (even though I hate doing that), they are quite reminiscent of Thrice. Arkham will be a name you hear quite a bit of in the future, and they will undoubtly become a top act in the coming years.
