The first release from the Martha Dumptruck Massacre. A collection of 4 songs that combine the rage of dissonance and a setting of quiet notes for a sad ending. Truly a great record. First 500 on blue vinyl!!

LUSH SONIC MELODIES OVER DISTANT VOCALS IN A SURREAL FIELD OF BLUE LIGHT!!! THIS RECORD MAKES ME FEEL STRANGELY HAPPY ALL OVER. "THE NIGHT WE FELL" E.P. IS VERY REMINISCENT OF 2 BANDS LONG GONE,BUT,WERE VERY INFLUENTIAL TO THE MARTHA DUMPTRUCK MASSACRE SOUND. DOES ANYONE REMEMBER "BAND OF SUSANS" OR "MY BLOODY VALENTINE"? IF NOT,THEN START WITH "THE NIGHT WE FELL" E.P., BECAUSE THIS RECORD IS A "SWEET SELF-DESTRUCTION", IN A FADING STYLE OF AMPLIFIER ART ROCK.

Musically, this is very diverse. It starts out with the usual emo chords then moves into punk rock and closes with only a guitar. The different music adds to the overall effect. Unfortunately, the it has hard to understand most of the words and there is no lyric sheet. I like the cover art and the vinyl comes on beautiful light blue. This record is cheap so it is worth the few bucks it costs.
