Smallman 10

Released on October 1, 1999

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Foreword continues the band's blinded drive into the musical abyss where nothing is as it sounds. The record's ten tracks are a genre-busting combination of searing punk energy, complicated jazz signatures with very few grooves and mature, insightful lyrics. - EXCLAIM MAGAZINE

This CD amazes me. These guys know how to make some exellent music. Their music is so technical and melodic, I can not even explain it in words. Every song on this CD is pure genius.. Every song is similar in sound, so the entire CD blends perfectly. Choke has their own unique sound, unlike any other band I have ever heard befor. Its insane and fast, with a blend of passion and emotion. I do belive that Choke is currently the most talented band Canada has to offer. The first songs that stick out as exellent songs when I first listened to the CD are Recoil, Its Gone Too Far, and Numb Phase. These songs are so technical, and contain many switch ups and patterns, which I didnt even know were possible. If you want a real intense listening expierence, I suggest you buy this CD.. and for such a low price its definately worth it. This is a great CD if you are already into Choke, but if you havent heard them before, then I suggest that you listen to "Needless To Say" first, because it is a little less complex, and easier to listen to. This CD will be the best CD in you collection, and you will not be dissapointed. [Foreword] deserves more than five stars... but since I can only rate it as high as five stars, It can only get 5, unfortunately. For this price the CD is more than worth it... BUY IT.

Choke is a very interesting band to listen to. The more I listen the more I love their music. Their unique style of breaks and crazy palm muting just drives me wild. If you're looking for a CD to blast in you'r mom's Geo Metro, get this one!!It's definatly not the same old lame stuff you always hear coming from people's cars like Blink, Lincoln Park, or that played out rapper 25 Cent. You'll definatly have the heads turning with this album!!!

I have been listening to Choke's Needless To Say for the past 25 days and have just started about a week to listen to Foreward. The difference between both albums is very noticable but good. Needless To Say had speed, Foreward has shear genious. Every song on here is amazing and incredibly well written. I love the singer's voice, very unique. Stand out songs are Tired, It's Gone Too Far, Lifeline, and I've Told Myself A Thousan Times, all the other songs are amazing too. If you have the money, buy this cd, if you don't have the money, get the money, then get the cd, if you don't have a cd player, get a cd player, whatever you do just make sure that you end up with this album or any Choke album. Choke is the best band in Canada for a good reason, Foreward.

I dont like this cd too much. Its well messy and has got quite an annoying sound. The other stuff is much better.

If I were to label the kind of music Choke plays, I would file it into the - weirdo speed n melody punk with a touch off madness fusion beat that if you can core - category. But, as I do not frequently label music, simply call it a cheap as fuck cd and spend your $ on this bomb... because your punk azz iz worth it!

Choke was a very interesting yet fascinating find. They have unique style that is untouched by any other punk band out today, yet if one had to describe their sound it would have to be "a super fast melodic Rage Against The Machine"
