I was very impressed with this book. I actually wrote about it in my college English class in early '05 and scored an A, so not only was it a great book to read but also a great book to write about.

This book is full of lyrics which is dedicated to children with learning disabilities. Some of the profits made go towards them. I brought the book for that reason. There are some amazing bits of writing in the book and some highly over-rated stuff.

good book. i only gave it 4 stars because i found some of the poetry to be borderline mediocre. some of it was uninteresting, boring or just held little to no artistic value. for instance, there's a poem in there from one of the guys in Brazil that is simply the numbers 1 and 0 over and over with the words love and hate intermixed throughout. that is not poetry or art in my opinion. hovever i would suggest this book to buyers because that kind of poetry only makes up for about 15% of the content. the other 85% is fairly decent and worth the 10 bucks. some of the stand out artists are all the guys in rx bandits, jason cruz from strung out, tim from rise against, derek from bear vs. shark and russ from good riddance. unfortunately, some of the poems i was looking forward to reading ie. fat mike from nofx and gabe from midtown, only contributed the lyrics to previously recorded songs to the book, which kind of upset me. but there is also great artwork at the back by bands like moneen, strung out, rx bandits, and anatomy of a ghost. even some of the really crappy lyricists like josh partington of something corporate blew me away with his poems because i had a notion that they would be really dull and cliche (but surprise, surprise) conclusion...if you don't like poetry, don't buy this book. i would imagine many people would buy it simply for the bands, and then end up leaving it on a shelf collecting dust so they can blow it off when necessary to show their friends how in touch with art and music they are...

if you respect poetry and good bands, buy this. if not, go read the latest interview's with all the shit bands on victory records.

This is great poetry from great people in great bands. Even if you don't know half of the bands that they say are on here, if you appreciate literature and poetry, buy this. Right now.

I really love this book. It's very inspirational and is not what I expected. It seems to get more beautiful every time I read it.

From the moment i opened this book i have not been able to let it go. Every single poem in this book is amazing, and no matter what mood you are in you can find one that fits. The relationship between the poems and the bands whos members have written them are evident in some more than others, but overall this book is just wonderfully put together. This book is a must have for anyone who believes in the emotion and power carried in words. It is writing at its best.

This is the third time I've purchased this book. It is completely worth the money and the writings in it are mostly really good. There's no reason not to spend the 10$ total on it.

This book is so amazing. You would never think that some of these musicians could go so deep. It has to be one of the best collections of poetry that I have.

OMG. I got this book last night and I read it all already. Alot of people say that poetry is for pussies, well they can rott in hell cause this isnt your average roses are red violets are blue crap. This book had me trapped in every single page. I found myself unable to stop reading. The poems are dark, depressive, and breathe taking, its beautiful. It has alot of my favorite bands in it(Boys Night Out, The Bled, Rise Against, etc) and a few I could have done without(The Starting Line,Something Corporate) but it still amazed me. So go buy this book. It has James Munoz from the Bled for Christ's sake!!!!!!!!!!! So get it and read it with your friends, your girlfriend, but not your parents. Dont miss out on this. These bands have amazed me and increased my love for them even more by not striking a chord, beating a drum, or even screaming a lyric, but simply by writing some of the best poetry i have ever read. Trust me on this and buy it.
